Welcome to Spring friends! I always feel that as soon as the days get a bit longer and the sun has deigned to come out even just a couple times, people are more willing to smile ( or maybe it’s just my very silly rain helmet?!) Whatever the reason, I’m loving the smiles back this week so keep them coming!
Sometimes the smiles I see are subtle and may only make me smile, a burgeoning tree or a fun set of brooches (I get it – it’s not for everyone) but sometimes I’m know for a fact everyone else is smiling too. When I went for a walk the other day, I found a bright yellow smiley face – now don’t tell me you’re not smiling right now!!
There’s nothing better than sitting down on your patio basking in the sun at the end of a long day. Strawberries, tomatoes, kale, snap peas, sage, rosemary and even sunflowers, we really made the most of our farmer’s market trip last weekend. So excited to watch them all grow! The first leaf of our sunflowers sprouted today and I can already see a few strawberries forming. It’s going to be a great season.
I enjoyed every little bit of the sunshine we got this week. Perched in a cherry blossom tree, I thought about how spring always seems to bring the best out of people. Out with the winter blues and in with the spring smiles. Yes – I did notice more people were smiling back this week! And on that note, I end my week with a few smiles of my own.
It’s actually very fitting that this week was the first week of a new year in the Persian culture. It was the end of a chapter for me and so… new year, new me! I am excited for the new doors and new adventures that await but in the meantime, I am enjoying the start of spring, the most beautiful cookies I baked for Persian New Year and the bit of sunshine we have been getting.
