Last week, as a special Easter celebration, I decided to go back out in the streets of Kitsilano to offer my neighbours in need a homemade lunch. Armed with gourmet mac n’ cheese with a side of salad and tasty carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, I set out to hand out a few meals.
Earlier this week, I headed out for my second Kits SIDEWALK Supper Project On the menu: my go-to summer meal, panini with a summer salad. I had a bit of extra time and also baked chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies (because who does not like cookies right?).
I absolutely love feeding people and strongly believe a kitchen table should always be full of hungry friends ready to enjoy the delicious food you’ve made for them. After all, food always tastes better in good company! Joining the SIDEWALK Supper Project made perfect sense to me. I’m not sure why I did not think of it before. I’ve instantly gained new friends to cook for!
It’s hard to care about anything these days. As soon as you start caring, the pile of issues that come along with any given cause is so daunting that we don’t even know where to start taking action. How can one little person make a true difference?
In come, 3 very cool people that care and who did take action: Andrea, Eddy and Thomas. These guys are the true definition of friendship and by just being together and themselves, they are already making the world a better place. They started the SIDEWALK Supper Project.
