5 Smiles: May 29

Growing up, I’ve always loved my family traditions. From our holidays in the South of France every fall to my dad taking on the challenge of cooking our Christmas dinners every year, I cherish those memories dearly. In the last few years, Moe and I have started creating our own traditions, most of them revolving around friends and food. We now have an annual camping trip, a Pi Day celebration, wine and cheese party and at the beginning of summer before everyone gets too busy, we get together for a favourite tradition: our pickling party. It might be a bit of an untraditional tradition but it’s certainly fun and delicious!

The pickling factory in action. Spicy green beans, asparagus, fennel and carrots and cauliflower. Yum!
Someone took some time to create mini Inukshuks along the sea wall and I took a moment to admire them.
Pretty handmade stationary for a special occasion.
Spotted this fun post-it mural on my lunch break walk.

What is 5 smiles?
Smiling at Strangers has taught me to be present in the little moments of my life and appreciate the beauty that surrounds me each and every day. Every week, I share 5 moments in pictures that might seem small but have made me smile. Hopefully it inspires you to appreciate the little things too.
